Connecting and setting up the iBeacon

Using the iBeacon in your car Tour only tracks those trips with your own car. This helps to save battery.

Note: At the moment it's only possible to connect Tour to one single iBeacon. 

1. Connecting the Tour iBeacon 

1.1. Activate Bluetooth 

In order to connect your iBeacon with Tour first activate bluetooth in the settings on your iPhone. 

1.2. Connect Beacon to Tour App 

Now open Tour and go to the settings menu (gear symbol). 

Choose "Car Detection" and then tap "Connect iBeacon" in order to search for the Beacon. 

  

As soon as the Beacon is displayed you can connect it. For this tap "Pair". Afterwards you'll automatically be forwarded to the main menu.

2. Connecting custom Beacon 

2.1. Activate Bluetooth 

In order to connect your iBeacon with Tour first activate bluetooth in the settings on your iPhone. 

2.2. Connect Beacon to Tour App 

2.2.1 Now open Tour and go to the settings menu (wheel symbol). 

2.2.2 Choose "Car Detection" and then tap "Connect iBeacon" in order to search for the Beacon. 

  

2.2.3 In order to choose your own iBeacon tap on "Use your own iBeacon". 

2.2.4 Now you can add your Beacon by tapping on the "+" symbol. 

2.2.5 Choose a name, enter the UUID and tap on "Done". The following screenshot on the right side demonstrates how the format of the UUID should look like.

  

3. Verifying the connection

You can verify any time if your Beacon is connected correctly to Tour. Enter the settings menu (wheel symbol) in Tour and tap on "Car Detection". 

  

Now you can see if your Beacon is connected to Tour. If necessary you can also disconnect by tapping on "Connected. Change?".
